Renowned South Africa sculptress, Maureen Visage, is best known internationally for her creation of quirky figurines. Each scuplture is handmade with no two being alike. Maureen captures the essence of the many moods of women through the use of themes and props. She encourages us to embrace the beauty, playfulness and joy that makes up the multi-faceted dimensions of what it means to be a “woman”.
The yoga girl sits on a concrete color , graffiti plinth combining the essence of urban life with the zen space of yoga and meditation practise.
Through this sculpture the artist encourages us to find a space of silence amongst life’s , at times, chaotic “graffiti” of noise and pollution.
